It was in 1984 that I started to use the name SETEM (‘Servicios Técnicos de Electrónica Musical’) to give a proper title to what had effectively consolidated into a technical service company over the previous years. After a number of location changes I settled the company around this time in the offices that we still use today.

Over the next few years, thanks to a great team and a fast-growing reputation, we gained contracts as official service and repair technicians for many new brands such as KORG, FOSTEX and ENSONIQ.

In 1985 we hired Mauricio Tonelli to acoustically design what became our recording studio located in the same building. It was named “Soterrània”, and allowed us to offer a brand new set of audio services.

Towards the end of the 80’s, in keeping with the philosophies of flexibility and versatility (and after many years of repairing the machines of other manufacturers), I had the desire to develop creatively and so began my own electronic engineering projects and design work. Since then, we have developed many design and prototype projects for engineering companies, but also for clients such as big theatre groups and entertainment companies.

In the following decade, the 90’s, the growth continued and we took on many more brands as their official service technicians. These included AKAI-PRO, ROLAND, BOSS, DIGITECH y ALESIS. It is with ALESIS that we still maintain a direct collaboration with the manufacturer as ADAT digital multitrack recorder specialists.

From the year 2000, again in keeping with the constant widening of our services, we took on the distribution of accessories for the German brand AUDIO-SERVICE that add functionality to YAMAHA’s range of digital desks.

Soon after, motivated through my personal interest in ornithology, we created a video post-production suite to provide for the growing nature documentary sector. From this specialised work we have once again widened our range of services to include all types of documentaries, multimedia and most recently web design projects.
