D.A.I.S. family
When interconnecting a variety of
digital equipment it is easy to run into problems.
These can include trying to match all the differing sample rates,
formats, physical connections and so on, the last often solved via
costly mechanical patchbays…the list goes on. The company
Audio-service has created a solution to all these issues with their
DAIS system.
The DAIS has a modular, flexible approach. IT is a digital audio
patchbay, sample-rate converter and signal distributor all in one.
With the DAIS family of products, Audio-service has created a
low cost, efficient, robust and versatile product that is equally
useful on live events as it is in recording studios and broadcast
situations. The following information covers in detail some of
the different configurations and applications of the DAIS system.
Do not hesitate to get in contact with us if
you would like more information.
D.A.I.S. COMPONENTS
Hardware
Chassis:
The core hardware component of the DAIS is the chassis. This allows
the system to vary according to the interface cards that are inserted.
To use analog interface cards an additional power source
is necessary (APWS).
The Cards:
The next physical components of the DAIS are the cards. These
can be from differing manufacturers (Audio-Service, Yamaha, Amptec,
etc.) and are inserted into the main chassis to add a particular
functionality to the system. We can easily create a personalised
configuration selected from a wide range of interface cards, adapting
the system to meet any requirements. The cards comply with most
industrial standards.
Software
All DAIS systems are controlled
using Windows software.
The software reviews, controls and regulates the hardware
connections and how they are configured. Only a few clicks of
the mouse allow you to configure and save the information for
each of the interface cards.
The routings can be made with the mouse individually or several
at a time.
Although incorporating the most useful elements of a modern digital
patchbay, the DAIS software controller has been designed to have
a very simple and efficient graphical user interface for quick
and easy use.
